Oscar Propulsion has announced it is sponsoring Shannon Lockhart as one of its SUP Technology Ambassadors during this year’s Crossing for Cystic Fibrosis.
In June 2022, Shannon completed the Crossing for Cystic Fibrosis — an 80-mile paddle race from The Bahamas to Florida, which was one of her toughest challenges to date.
Shannon, who is also a firefighter and mum to twins, took home a number of accolades including first place for First Responders, second place for Women’s Solo, and third place overall, while using Oscar Propulsion’s cut blade technology.
This year’s Crossing for Cystic Fibrosis takes place on 25 June 2023 with Oscar Propulsion proudly supplying Shannon with her innovative paddles for the event, which help paddlers reduce injury and strain, while maintaining performance.
Since testing our technology, Shannon has become an advocate for Oscar Propulsion’s cuts and the many benefits they offer.
Shannon said: “Most of my training is ultra-endurance stand up paddle boarding. I have training sessions that last five hours, 14 hours, and up to 48 hours long.
“When you put your body through this kind of intensity you want your equipment not only to be able to handle your goals, but to help you achieve them. The Oscar Propulsion technology with the cut blade, reduces the load on my shoulders allowing me to go longer and stronger for each training session.
“I am more stable on the water and my recovery time is faster as I don’t fatigue as much as I did with my previous paddle. My recovery time is just as important!”
