Early morning on the 17th May 2024 David Haze (@nomadicpaddler) and Joe Cartwright (the_paddling_paramedic) set off on a tandem iSUP board in an attempt to cross the Channel in a new world record time of under 5 hours.
Weather, tide and shipping all presented their challenges but perseverance and tenacity along with a superb support crew paid off with a crossing time of 4 hours, 48 minutes and 13 seconds beating the record by over 40 minutes.
David said “Thankfully, we had our Oscar Propulsion slitted paddles, which really helped with this feat.”
Congratulations David and Joe!
